The Department of Biomedical Sciences (BMI) has around 300 employees and a large number of externally affiliated researchers and educators, as well as many students working on projects in our research groups. In total, the department comprises about 550 individuals.

Interdisciplinary composition

The strength of the department lies in the interdisciplinary composition of medically and scientifically trained personnel, including molecular biologists, bioinformaticians, biochemists, anatomists, physiologists, endocrinologists, pharmacologists, developmental biologists, and clinicians, along with a strong team of laboratory technicians, bio analysts, and administrative staff.

A good work environment

At BMI, we strive to create the best conditions for all employees and students. Our work environment committee works to ensure a good mental and physical work environment and to create a conducive atmosphere for daily work. We also place great emphasis on ensuring the best foundation for collaboration both internally at the department and externally.
