Sustainability

At the Department of Biomedical Sciences, we work to support the faculty's goal of halving the carbon footprint by 2030.

The department's efforts are based on a recently developed sustainability policy. This policy particularly focuses on reducing the department's CO2 footprint by implementing green initiatives, including a focus on laboratories, travel activities, energy consumption, and the daily habits of the department's staff and students.

LEAF

A particular focus areas is LEAF certification of the department's labs. LEAF stands for Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework and is a new certification program that will help make labs more sustainable not only at the University of Copenhagen, but also universities around the world.
