Study Group on Cardiogenic Shock and Cardiac Arrest—a global network to improve the quality of care

Following some years of discussion and debate, during the ESC congress in Amsterdam 2023, the new ACVC Task Force (TF) on cardiogenic shock (CS) and cardiac arrest (CA) underwent its inaugural meeting. The main aim of the TF is to enable development of a global network to share high quality research and standardized education in order to improve the quality of care of patients with CS or CA. Due to the clear and pressing unmet need of the patient population, as well as the uniqueness of the potential for interprofessional exchange and collaboration, the TF was rapidly commuted to a Study Group, and is already active, including a number of relevant Sister Societies and experts from across the world. In this issue of the Science pulse the two founders of the Study Group (Susanna Price and Christian Hassager) along with the current Chair and co-Chair (Guido Tavazzi and Steffen Desch) talk about the past, present, and future of the Study Group.
