Signe Sørensen Torekov, M.Sc. Human biology, PhD, is Professor MSO at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and also affiliated with the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, University of Copenhagen.
Professor Torekov is an expert of obesity and healthy weight loss maintenance. She is a research group leader and principal investigator of several large clinical investigations of obesity and maintenance of healthy weight loss.
Furthermore, Dr. Torekov is a teacher of pathophysiology and endocrinology and supervisor of students at University of Copenhagen and course director of Diabetes – a global challenge (www.coursera.org/#course/diabetes). She is also course leader of Pathophysiology for Medical Engineers.
