Lisa Salcini is Associate Professor at BRIC, University of Copenhagen. She graduated as Biologist from the University of Perugia, Italy, in 1990 and she was awarded a PhD in molecular biology from the Open University London, for her research on the identification and characterization of a new protein-protein interaction domain, the EH domain. In 1998 she spend one year at the CNR of Naples, Italy, to learn to use C. elegans as a model system. From 1995 to 2004 she was working as a postdoc and, later, as a senior staff scientist at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan, Italy. Lisa Salcini started her group at BRIC in 2004, and the main interest of the lab is to study the role of chromatin factors during C. elegans development and in the germ cells. The group is part of the Centre of Epigenetics, funded by the Danish National Research Foundation.
