Tor Biering-Sørensen receives the ”Young-Research-Award” 2020 from the Bagger-Sørensen Foundation

Tor Biering-Sørensen who is associate Professor at the Department of Biomedical Sciences and doctor and research Director at Herlev and Gentofte Hospital receives the award for his extensive research activity within prevention of heart diseases related to diabetes.

The award is a personal honorary award of DKK 100,000 which the Bagger-Sørensen Foundation will present on 22 October 2020.

Tor is an international recognized expert in ultrasound scanning of heart functions – a research field which he has worked within for more than ten years. He recently received a Lundbeck fellowship of DKK 10 millioner to investigate whether it is possible to avoid heart disease by offering preventative treatment to elderly people with a particular risk of developing heart disease, including people with diabetes.
