Jonas Isaksen receives the EliteForsk Travel Grant

TALENT

PhD student Jonas Isaksen from the research group Experimental Cardiology has received an EliteForsk Travel Grant. The coveted scholarship supports Jonas' trip to the research institution Simula in Oslo.

Every year, the Ministry of Education and Research awards travel scholarships to young researchers at the country's universities in the prestigious support program EliteForsk. Jonas Isaksen is one of 20 young researchers in the country who have received a travel grant. The grants are DKK 200,000 and support stays at foreign research institutions.

Cardiograms and dementia

Jonas’ PhD project aims to investigate whether cardiograms can be used to identify people at increased risk of developing dementia.

”The EliteForsk Travel Grant gives me the opportunity to travel to the research institution Simula in Oslo, which houses some of the most talented researchers in the world in the field of machine learning (artificial intelligence). With machine learning, I can analyze the cardiograms in much more detail than I can with classical statistics, and I get the opportunity to analyze the interplay between the various components of the cardiogram,” says Jonas Isaksen.
