Cardiovascular Research Networking Symposium - 18 August 2022

RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM

Are you working in the area of cardiovascular research? The Department of Biomedical Sciences (BMI), University of Copenhagen are inviting all potential research collaborators from the clinical sector and the industry for this networking symposium.

The goal: To bring senior researchers from industry, clinical sector, and BMI together, allowing them to get to know each other and discover new opportunities for collaboration.

The concept: We have chosen three themes, which engages a significant number of BMI researchers and represents areas of unmet medical needs. The themes are:

  • Arrhythmia
  • Atherosclerosis and cardio-metabolic syndrome
  • Heart failure

In between each session there will be networking and the opportunity to discuss potential research collaborations.

Networking pitches, a starting point for networking and for exploring potentials for collaboration: An overview of all attendants including their research interests, methods, and wishes/needs in terms of collaboration will be made available prior to the symposium. This will enable attendants to plan who they would like to meet with during the afternoon or the dinner.

Program

14.30-14.40: Welcome

14.40-15.30: Thematic talks on Arrhythmia

15.30-15.50: Break and networking

15.50-16.20: Thematic talks on Atheroscle rosis and cardio- metabolic syndrome.

Registration and networking pitch

When registering for the symposium, you are asked to provide your name, affiliation, and contact information. You will also be asked to provide a brief ’network pitch’ by describing your:

  • Current research interests and project areas
  • Your research methods, models, and approaches
  • Wishes/needs in terms of collaboration
  • Upload a picture (optional)

Please note that all this information will be shared with all other attendants prior to the symposium. Thus you should only include information that can be sheared to a broader forum. Attendance is free of charge.

Why should you attend?

The symposium will allow you to explore the potential collaborating with researchers from other sectors. Such collaborations can lead to:

  • Translation and back-translation between clinical and basic science.
  • Access to new tools, techniques, models, and approaches to address clinical challenges and access to clinical material to test or generate hypotheses.
  • Generation of data of high translational value incl. data on human pathophysiology and pathophysiology.
  • A strengthened direction and impact of the research.
  • Opportunity to attract joined research grants and meet the increasing focus on interdisciplinary approaches to tacking unmet needs.
  • Joint publications.
  • Avenues for careers of the young researchers.
