University of Copenhagen, Department of Public Health
Psychologist Erik Lykke Mortensen and his PhD student will describe the mental state and the body and disease perception of the patients and will relate the results to the physiological changes in weight and metabolism.

Region Zeeland, Department of Gastro-Intestinal Surgery, Roskilde and Køge hospital
Executes RYGB surgeries since the end of 2010. The department research strategy includes additional use of laparoscopic surgical techniques and especially the results of RYGB surgeries. The department has therefore prioritized investments in this area.

Copenhagen Bariatric Surgery Group
Patients are recruited from CBAR Bariatric Center, which is the only private hospital in Denmark focusing exclusively on surgical treatment of obesity. Consultant surgeon Michael Støckel, MD has been responsible for the obesity surgery center in the last seven years. Together with his team of other surgeons, endocrinologists, and dietitians, he contributes with a comprehensive practical and theoretical knowledge about obesity and diabetes treatment.
