FitMum

Physical activity during pregnancy improves health of mother and offspring. However, less than half of the Danish pregnant women meet the Danish Health Authorities’ recommendation of 30 minutes of physical activity per day. In the research project FitMum, we offer pregnant women either structured supervised exercise training or motivational counselling supported by health technology throughout pregnancy, to investigate if these two exercise approaches can increase physical activity level among pregnant women. Since autumn 2018, FitMum has enrolled 220 pregnant women, and the last participants gave birth in the spring of 2021. When results gradually are ready, they can be found on this webpage. On this page, you can also read more about the project, dissemination activities, involved researchers and much more.

FitMum is approved by the Danish National Committee on Health Research Ethics (H-18011067) and the Danish Data Protection Agency (P-2019-512) and registered at ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03679130).
