Scientific publishing is not only important; it is also an enjoyable aspect of research. I review about 20 scientific manuscripts per year and I believe that every scientist should review >3 manuscript for every paper he or she publishes.
I am deputy Editor-in-Chief of Physiological Reports, an open-access journal created in a collaboration between The Physiological Society and the American Physiological Society.
I am on the editorial board of:
- Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology
- Journal of Pharmacological and Toxicological Methods
- Acta Physiologica
I believe scientific reviewing should be acknowledged as are publications and attracted funding. I use publons to keep track of my reviewing activities and link to this from my CV. You can see my reviewer profile here.
I arrange PhD-student masterclasses on How to get published.
