Every year, the Academy for Talented Youth (ATU) elects a Teacher of Year. This year Associate Professor Morten Bækgaard Thomsen was elected.

Associate Professor Morten Bækgaard Thomsen has been elected Teacher of the Year at the Academy for Talented Youth. Morten is teaching the course in human biology.

“Morten Bækgaard Thomsen provides teaching of extremely high quality. As a teacher of human biology, Morten is able to make complex and specialized theory understandable and interesting. Morten has a high level of expertise and is a natural leader when teaching, which is reflected in his commitment and respect for the participants. With humor, commitment and a wide range of didactic tools he creates a unique teaching environment, where the work with medicine and diagnosis are made real for the participants and through the past four semesters his teaching has been rated extraordinarily high," says chief of secretary for ATU East Ellen Smidt-Nielsen.

When the Teacher of the Year is elected, the most important factor is how the participants experience the teaching. The title is given to the teacher who has received the best evaluations, regarding both academic content, communication, output and teaching method.
