Endocrinology Research
The section focus on the importance of intrauterine programming; mitochondrial dysfunction in association with insulin-resistance; the incretin function with adipositas and diabetes; lipoprotein metabolism and adipositas aetiology and pathogenesis; and cytokine-induced β-cell death.
Main projects:
-
Medical Research Methodology
As a model for Translational Research Methodology we investigate ways to prevent β-cell destruction from “bench-to-bedside”.
>>
-
Human Gut Transport Lab
We seek to characterize especially functional receptor subtypes for serotonin and prostaglandins in human duodenum and colon. >>
-
Synagics lab
Synagics lab develops tools to analyze dose-response effects at equilibrium in pharmaco-dynamics and combinatorial drug therapy.
>>
-
Translational Metabolic Physiology
Our research is focused on four main areas.
>> -
Structural Pathobiology
Research in the section of pathobiology is focused primarily on the application of morphological techniques.
>> -
Cavin/Vinten Group
Has been studying the basic biology of fat cells for several years using a range of methods and has obtained, important information on the cellular response to insulin stimulation. >>
