New large study by Signe Sørensen Torekov

Assistant Professor Signe Sørensen Torekov is Co-Lead Investigator on the world’s largest study looking at the secretion of the gut hormone GLP-1.

New results show that the secretion is reduced among overweight and obese people, people with pre-diabetes and newly diagnosed people with type 2 diabetes.

The research was a joint collaboration between Steno Diabetes Center and the University of Copenhagen.

Lead investigator Signe Sørensen Torekov, Assistant Professor at Department of Biomedical Sciences and Lead investigator Kristine Færch, Senior Research Fellow at Steno Diabetes Center.
